Between 1745 and approximately 1752, Bohemia Manor served as the site of an academy that educated Catholic boys born in Maryland. Between 1793 and 1799, the Corporation of Roman Catholic Clergymen transferred custodial responsibilities of the Bohemia Manor residence and plantation, including the people enslaved there, to the Sulpicians.
